Training this coming wednesday will be from 2 to 5.30pm. Attire for sec 2s is your unit shirt plus slacks, sec 3s and 4s full uniform with beret. Everyone is to fall in in your respective squads at 2 pm sharp, on the track next to the new J block. If you wish to put your bags in the NPCC room, please do so before 2 pm. Everyone is to bring along your water bottles. Since it's the start of the year, we'll remind you again that if you are going to be late or absent for training, please inform Shermaine in advance, or it will be considered late/absent without valid reason.

Sec 2s and 3s,

We'll be sending cadets to go for the kayaking courses at the end of december, for a duration of 3 days. This course is not compulsory, but you're strongly encouraged to go. The course is fully paid for, and at the end of the 3 days you get your 1-star cert (and a badge afterwards, i think).

There are currently 2 sets of dates that we are suggesting, please email me at perihelion_dev@yahoo.com.sg, by coming Saturday, regarding which set of dates you would be able to make it on (if you're able to make it on both sets of dates please say so)

Set A: 17th, 18th and 19th Dec
Set B: 18th, 19th and 22nd Dec

Our last official training session of the year will be on the coming wednesday, 22nd of Oct. Timing is as usual, 2.00 to 5.30 pm. In the recently concluded shooting competition, our dear sec 3 and 4 cadets took part blablabla and did our unit proud! (:

Attached's the shifts for open house 2008. The people who are down for the booth shifts are not allowed to back out as you've already said that you can make it in previous mails. For these people, please remember to report for duty in your NPCC uniform (full u) at your given time.

With regards to the open house prep on friday, the day before open house, people who are down for the shifts have to come so as to make sure you know what to do on the actual day. This open house prep has been made compulsory for ALL SEC ONES so you may come after your raffles cheer rehearsal. Please note that attendance will be taken next friday. All others are welcomed to help out too. ((:

Rebecca, Meijun, Jiayuan, Chenyan (sec 2s) will be helping out whereas Sec 3s including wynne, hanissa, shermaine, cheryl, joyce, duxuan and yunshu are to come down for the open house prep work too. (:

For those who are coming down, please remember to bring your scissors, glue, construction paper for posters, markers, ZIGS and whatever art materials you have for the posters and stickers, etc... as we will be making stickers and decorating posters. Theres training for all levels on coming wednesday and friday (unless you have valid reasons of course). Put your bags in the room (if you want) and assemble at the NETBALL COURT by 3.30 pm, in the same formation as our previous muster parade at the end of last training. Bring along your water bottles. There will be a campcraft competition next year february (22nd, date to be confirmed), and we need to send a team of about 8 to 10 sec two cadets. Main task of competition will be to pitch a tent(stable and everything, with flag flying up high~~) within 10 mins, so we really need to practice. Practices will be a few during the holidays, then a lot more during january next year.

You guys will be gathering at 2.45 outside NP room, then we'll go up to some classroom where Sec1s and 2s will probably squeeze together (haha) Yup. From 3-4, there will be a talk conducted by Exco08 to everyone. Basically, we will be standardizing the punishments (pumpings etc) and talking about uniform etiquette and so on! From 4-5 you all will be doing drills! And then if time allows, we'll have games which is probably the super fun- Netball :D

Friday 270707 Training
Attire: Full Uniform (sec 1s wear cap NOT beret)
All cadets are to assemble along the road(in front of Blk J) in their respective squads by 2.30pm SHARP pending dry weather
In the case of wet weather, assemble in your respective squads outside the npcc room
Sec 2s you WILL take over the unit from the muster parade onwards.

However, EVERYONE take note of the following:
1)All cadets are to TAILOR their pants to the correct length by this FRIDAY. No more excuses please...
2)If you've been excused from drills, please do not partake in the muster parade. Stand/sit under the shade after you've informed the OIC (overall in charge) NCO of that day
3)We do not wish to see anyone in any attire other than FULL UNIFORM on Friday. If you do not wear your full uniform, please take the iniative to inform an NCO beforehand and move to the side of your squad.

Training Schedule:
Sec 1s will have informal chat, followed by campcraft introduction (parts of a tent), drills followed by Handover which will commence at 5pm Sharp
Sec 2s will have your Sea Lectures followed by Handover Ceremony that will begin at 5PM

Well, we gave out some bronze seamanship (the anchor one) badges and nametags today to sec1s. Those of you who have it, please sew the velcro part on.

While facing the uniform, the name tag on your left, velcro badges at the right pocket. Please leave one horizontal finger space between the pocket and the badge okay ! First badge at the leftmost of the row above the pocket, the 'slot' closest to the middle of the uniform which is indicated by the (*), the other badges (`) the sec1s will get them later on.

so, erm, something like that x)

Please report tomorrow at the foyer/koipond by 9am for photo taking. Report in full uniform (shirt, rank, nametag, unit formation sign [the rgs logo], sea unit logo [the blue one], badges if you have, belt, pants, black regulator socks (the one which came with your uniform, boots) and carry your cap along with you.

We'd advise you to leave your class at 8.50am (right after first block) so that you have TEN minutes to change, so nobody should be late.

Those who do not have your uniform, report at 9am in your PE shirt and black slacks (whitesocks and white shoes). Remainder of the name tags will be given out tomorrow before phototaking.

Oh and erm, come to school in school uniform, change just before phototaking, and change back to school uniform after phototaking kaye.

1)NP's phototaking session is this thursday the 28th of june. Timing will be confirmed (sir's trying to change the timing). Bring your full uniform to school inclusive of your CAPS not your berets(sec 1s), pin up all your badges, make sure your uniform looks smart k? You can change into it 5 to 10mins before phototaking. If you don't have your uniform, wear your unit shirt and track pants. Sec 1s your nametags will be given this friday, but make sure you sew on your unit formation sign and npccsea logo.

2)This is also an announcement to all cadets who are participating in the inter unit quiz (you should have received an email from me), the quiz has been postponed from this friday the 29th of june to next friday the 6th of july. erm make an effort to read a lil k? Attire would be full uniform, change and report to the foyer by 2pm (sir thinks we should eat at hq instead). Yups, bring along a pen, a 2B pencil, an eraser and some form of backing for you to write on (eg clipboard).

3)Sec1s who haven't gone for uniform fitting can follow the bus to hq on the 6th of July for your fitting.

there is one new competition:

OPSS NPCC Inter-Unit Beep Test Challenge
Orchid Park Secondary NPCC
13 July (Fri) 1430 - 1730
2 Cadets per team; Open to all
Reply to I/Cs by 2nd July (Mon)

The Beep Test is basically what you guys have done during house practice, which is the runner has to carry out a series of shuttle runs/laps between 2 markers exactly 20 m apart, keeping in time with a series of beep signals. There are 21 levels, and for each level, there will be a certain no. of laps to complete. For e.g., runner has to complete 7 laps for Level 1, followed by 8 laps for Level 2 and so on. If you have the stamina, join this competition.

Please include your name, NRIC, contact no. and rank. You may ask for clarifications about this competition. Every cadet is highly encouraged to participate in at least one inter-unit competition per year.

NPCC Inter-Unit T-shirt Design Competition 2007
Deadline of submission: Friday, 07/07/07

Entry Designs Requirements
(i) Entry designs must reflect and be related to NPCC and/or activities.
(ii) Entries containing indecent and irrelevant designs will be disqualified.
(iii) Participants are allowed to use different art mediums (e.g. markers, poster colors) to express their ideas.
(iv) Designs are encouraged to be free-hand drawn.
(v) All designs must be done and submitted on an A4 or A3 size paper.
(vi) A short write-up of not more than 50 words must be submitted together with the design, preferably type-written on another piece of A4 size paper.

Rules and Regulationshis competition is open to ALL NPCC cadets only. The integrity of the competition is highly dependent on the integrity of the participating units.
(i) All units are allowed to submit a maximum of only two designs for this competition.

June Holiday Training:
June Camp 29th to 30th May
Rafting - 28 May at Loyang Regional Base - Sec 2 cadets
HKMP5 theory lesson - 30 May at HTA - Sec 1 cadets.
Police Knowledge and Homefront Security - 20 - 21 Jun for Sec 2 and 3 cadets.

Courses later in the year:
SANA course - 29 Oct 07 for Sec 2 cadets
CD course - 1 Nov for Sec 2 cadets
ATC Camp @Ubin - Sept 5 - 6 Sec 1s,2s and 3s
Dry shoot practice - 18 Jul and 23 July - Sec 2 and 3 cadets - school uniform
Practice shoot - 31 July at HTA - Full uniform
Sec 3 cadets will have their marksman shoot on the same day.

Pencil these dates into your diaries or calendars k? It's compulsory to attend the above courses as they lead to a badge. Your attendance will thus count towards your overall attendance. Regarding Friday, this is a reminder to all sec 1s/2s going for internal outreach. Although you have an excuse letter, no RETEST will be conducted for L1 seamanship so you won't get the badge. Sec 2s who will miss friday's lecture are expected to read up their own notes if they do not attend training on friday. If you fail the subsequent test, no retest will be conducted.Sir wants to remind you that we were being very nice by cancelling training a week earlier than required for MYAs and not conducting training last friday. We do not want to pressure you guys into coming for training, but we just want to remind you that NPCC is your CCA.

Dear Sec 2s,
please refer to the files section of Yahoo Groups regarding the confirmed namelist of ORA road marshalls.Report at 7am at the miniamphi(Mrs Toh will mark your attendance).Bring along your support school activity card, and you'll be given $1 ORA coupon. Duties will end by 9am latest. Please come dressed in your black batch tee (new sec 2s could you borrow one from your batchmatety!) and cullotes so it'll be easier for mrs toh to recognise you.The 2IC's names have been bolded,italicized and underlined on the list and the 2 of them will be in charge of disseminating info about this to others k, thanks

Some rules to observe on saturday:
1.Always stay on the left side of walkers / joggers.
2.Always stay either on the pavement or on the grass patch while marshaling.
3.Always watch out for vehicles as route can be heavy with traffic at times.
4.Always remind walkers / joggers to keep to pedestrian pavement.

Sec 4 and EXCO Meeting

Dear Sec 4s and EXCO,

Please note that there will be an all-Sec 4 meeting (inclusive of non-exco members) with Mr Ganesh, followed by EXCO meeting with Mrs Toh, on Thursday, 10 March 2007 at the 407 classroom.

Timing TBC (either 7.30AM or 2.45PM. Currently there's an equal number of people who can make it for both slots)

Jasmine, Sim Joo and Sheryl Ho, I could not reach you via your handphone or house phone. Please SMS/call me at 97889910 regarding which time slot you can make it for.

Reminder: Camp individual committees should get your proposals done before the Thursday meeting. No further extensions will be entertained and punishment will be given for failure to complete assigned duties.

Tardiness and absence from this meeting will not be tolerated unless you have a valid excuse.

I will call/SMS and email each of you tomorrow to confirm the timing.
